Pumpkin on the Ganges bank

Lot of pumpkin (kohandha or kooshmaad) is coming from Ganges sand. It is grown on the islands of Ganges and brought to shore by boats. Then people carry on their heads in baskets made of stems of arahar (pulses) called Khanchi. Do you relish eating pumpkin? I do not. I only like it in sambar when I eat idli. Come to Allahabad to see it on the banks of mother Ganges.

About

Thinking is the strength of a human being. I think therefore I am. It is only occasional that the thought process wavers on the past and on the anxieties of the future. Thoughts have to be friend. Not the master. Not the enemy. Not the ghost sitting on our back. Musings are not the words of the idle. They are the Gems of Consciousness.
